I have wanted to blog a lot but most of the times its been my innate laziness or tied up hands which are responsible for my inattendance in this special class…
Hindi movies and bollywood songs have been every Indian childs daily dose of bfast before going to school, just pop on the radio or even when your traveling by the local auto or bus you have got the radio on pouring out the music..
Eternal love stories, happy endings, larger than life settings elaborate locations back twisting dance movementsall have been injected into our fragile young subconscious since the days we started walking and talking
So tonite I wanted to talk about this very pivotal dialogue which I herd repeated in two very female protagonist movies –it first appeared in Kal Ho NA Ho(KHNH)-Preity Zinta starrer and now recently in Fashion –priyanka Chopra starrer
The Blissful dialogue is “Har ladki yehi chahti hain is uski pati mein usko ek dosth milenge par mujhe meri dosth mein ek pathi mila”(Umm pls excuse the grammatical hindi ushering!!”)
Basically I guess that’s how female mind operates we are made of the double X chromosome so naturally that’s an overdose in sum form!!We women can easily make this transition in most desperate times,to see a good guy friend as a potential life partner. But the issue is different for men I suppose they draw the clear line between friend and girl-friend…
In movie Fashion it was Mugdha godse who tells the similar dialogue to her gay friend when he asks her to marry him to save his career and public face.Alternatively it was Preity who tells her daughter in the end of the movie,a classic finishing line about Saif who she didn’t love initially more than a friend but SRK fine tunes her heart to fall into Saifs safe hands…So it is possible women can maybe love two men but we can just choose one and then marry him..why do these guy friends have this magic of pulling at our heart strings, mainly cos in times of despair they strtch out their affection and we mistake it as love..
Im sure its happened with many women out there, even in popular sitcom I mean Rachel has assumed she was in love even with Joey at one period, men blame it on our hormones but it isn’t just that, only women know how their hearts get won sumtimes with just a gesture…
When Harry met Sally,Hum Tum are also similar storylines where plot revolves around 2 ppl who meet regularly in life but have never had the fortune of knowing each other well enough to realize that they could be perfect for each other..
Love at first sight, college lovers, work mates, neighbours, internet dates so many forms we make to just fall in love, and yet to define this 4 letter word is beyond any poets hardest task…any painters intricate painting ….any musicians soothing tune…
i am having a full on vacation after almost a year living out of suitcases is tiring but when do pilgrims halt??so making some use of this blogpost :)
